Venda Art Lodge Standard Rooms – Full Board Only
The Venda Art Lodge is a magical African story waiting to be shared with you.
An incredible work of art built on dreams and inspiration. Our hearts went into bringing this original Venda homestead back to life and creating one of the most unique lodges in the world.
The sculpted figures, by artists Noria Mabasa and Thomas Kubayi, greet you around every corner; mermaids, maidens and crocodiles emerging from the clay walls.
Nestled on the hillside overlooking our Duluni valley, you can spend all day simply relaxing on the deck and watching the wildlife grazing and coming to the waterhole to drink – a remarkable real-life spectacle.
Standard Rooms – Lemon Tree, Marula, Wild Plum, Noria and Mbeki
There are five en-suite African style huts that open up to sculpted sun-baked courtyards. Intimate and unique, Noria’s sculptures and the rondavels restored on their original footprint give you an opportunity to experience art and village life in a ‘one of a kind’ live-in gallery.

“What a retreat!”
– Trip Advisor
“I spent a night at Leshiba on my way back to Johannesburg. Joyce, Kathy and Peter are a fantastic team. It is the real life touches that make Leshiba! Joyce’s stories of growing up in the Venda Village, her amazing food and contagious happiness. The morning walk with Peter, up to the rock art, was incredible and watching the sun go down over Hamasha Gorge was beautiful. I will definitely be back.”
